2018 ABRA Finals - November 10-11, 2018
$1,500 Added Open 5D plus amazing awards!
Our 2018 Finals brought some tough competition. We had 154 finalists entered over the weekend of November 10-11, 2018 at Acadiana Fairgrounds SugArena in New Iberia, LA. Over $120,000 in cash and awards were distributed. Special thanks to Jarrod Broussard and family for cooking our gumbo donated by Hebert's Specialty Meats for Saturday evening and all those that contributed potato salad or dessert. SugArena supplied the tables and chairs. We had plenty! Both our silent and live auctions were a success. Logan Krieg, Misti Thibodeaux and Cindy Leger donated the 3 items bringing in the highest bids. Many class champions were not determined until the finals average points were calculated. We congratulate all of our year-end winners. Fastest barrel time for the finals was a 15.449 run by Katti Breaux on Mr Tapestry Moon. Fastest pole time was a 21.170 run by Darnelle Guidry on Bozo Pistols Tigger. Complete results and year-end standings are posted. Check out our full color finals program online and thank all that have supported the association. David Leadingham joined us again to capture all the action shots and memories. He will have pictures posted online soon. We thank all of those that helped in obtaining, customizing and storing our awards including Bayou Equine Solutions, Natalie Guidry, Buck N Hoss, Misti Thibodeaux, and all board members, family & friends that lent a helping hand. Katti Breaux organized our flag ceremony including our major sponsor's flags. Our 2019 Schedule will be finalized soon. New board members are needed for 2019. Please contact us if you or anyone you know would be interested in serving our organization.

Only top 15 contestants are allowed at the Finals in every class but the Open 5D and Beginner Barrels (8 & U/Special Needs). If some don't qualify for finals, or choose not to enter a class, anyone below them will move up. Finalists should enter the Open 5D if they do not move into top 15. Enter the class you would like to ride, just in case others don't enter. If you do not qualify, your entry fee for that class will be refunded at the finals. We will NOT contact the next in line to fill a class. Members only need to enter 8 shows, in any class. Please do not go by the number of shows listed in the class member standings. We use the Finalist Summary number of shows for qualification and Perfect Attendance Extra Mile. A total of 13 shows is needed for perfect attendance. Everyone is encouraged to enter the Open 5D Barrels at the finals. There will be $1,500 added money for the weekend along with top 5 average awards in every division. All Finalist Requirements must be met by finals in order to receive awards. ABRA is not responsible for any awards not picked up at finals.
